SINGAPORE’S LEADING PRIVATE TUITION AGENCY

HOW DO I REQUEST FOR A TUTOR?

You can request for a tutor by submitting our online Request Form.

Upon receiving your request, we will Whatsapp you to discuss your child’s academic needs. We will spend the next few hours shortlisting several suitable tutors within our database and network for your consideration.

Our working hours are from 9am to 9pm, seven days a week.

Tuition usually commences within one week after you have selected a tutor.

TRIAL LESSON

The paid trial lessons can be 1.5 hours or 2 hours per session.

CAN I CHANGE THE TUTOR AFTER THE TUITION BEGINS?

You just need to pay for the tuition session(s) that have been conducted. There will not be any extra charges for the change.

AM I ABLE TO VIEW THE TUTOR’S CERTIFICATES BEFORE THE FIRST LESSON?

You can request to see the hardcopies of certificates of your tutor to be presented to you during the first lesson.

The client acknowledges that it is his/her responsibility to verify the suitability, credentials and qualifications of any tutor with whom he/she engages.

HOW MUCH DO I PAY FOR YOUR TUTOR MATCHING SERVICES?

Happy Students is Singapore’s leading private tuition agency and our matching service is free for students/parents requesting for tutors. This is because our agency commission is charged to the tutor, not to you.

The client will pay to Happy Students half of the fees payable in the first 4 calendar weeks. This amount is the commission to Happy Students for matching the tutor to the client, and will be borne by the tutor.

Thereafter, the client will pay the tuition fees directly to the tutor.

If lessons are postponed during the first two weeks, the commission payable to Happy Students will be based on the tuition session conducted the subsequent week(s).

The tutor shall collect all fees due to the tutor from the parent after the two weeks. Happy Students will not assist in any recovery of fees.

PAYMENT OF FEES

The client is required to pay tuition fees only for the number of hours of lessons given by the tutor.

If you decide to stop the tuition after the first lesson, you are required to pay for only that lesson.

Please transfer the fee for that lesson to Happy Students and we will transfer the tutor’s fee to him/her.

Tutors are not authorized at any time to collect the payment on Happy Students’s behalf.

Tuition fees are to be paid every 4 weeks to the tutor, unless otherwise agreed between the client and the tutor.

PAYMENT MODE

We will provide our bank account information for you to make payment via internet banking or ATM transfer directly to Happy Students’s bank account.

If the client fails to pay us, Happy Students reserves the right to terminate the Assignment. This is in fairness to the tutor, who might need to give the available slot to another client if this Assignment does not materialize.

Once the payment is received, it will be acknowledged in the form of a receipt, issued to the payer (Parent/Requestor/Guardian) via Whatsapp, sms, email or other electronic communications medium. We will also provide details of the Tuition Assignment that can include: tutor’s name, hourly fee, date of commencement of tuition, subject(s), level, duration of each lesson and frequency, etc.

FIRST LESSON

Once the client accepts the tutor’s candidacy, the client will not be able to change the schedule of the First Lesson.

Clients are allowed to make changes in the schedule after the First Lesson is over. However, Happy Students hopes that this is not necessary as the tutor has already reserved that slot of time for you.

If you want to make changes in the schedule, please consult with your tutor to ask if he/she is able to change the schedule or not.

The tutor is to bring his/her identity document, academic transcripts/certificates and relevant documents for the First Lesson for verification purposes.

If the tutor is unable to conduct the First Lesson of a tuition assignment, the tutor must call Happy Students at least 3 business days before the actual lesson. If the tutor fails to notify Happy Students of his/her cancellation/postponement, an administrative charge of S$30 will be imposed on him/her.

If the tutor fails to contact Happy Students with a valid reason to inform us about the tutor’s absence from the lesson, the tutor’s profile at Happy Students may be blacklisted. This will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

LOCATION OF TUTORING LESSONS

Tutors will conduct lessons at the student’s residence unless otherwise specified and agreed upon by both the client and the tutor.

If the client has a request for the tuition to be conducted at another location (eg a friend’s home), Happy Students will ask if the tutor is able to accommodate the request.

Happy Students and the tutor will not be responsible if the given location is occupied or not available for use for the lessons and the officially scheduled timings will still be counted as a paid lesson.

TUTOR REASSIGNMENT OR CANCELLATION OF ASSIGNMENTS

There is no obligation or contract to complete a fixed number of lessons, except for the First Lesson.

If at any time the client is not satisfied with the tutor, the client may request a replacement or termination. However, the client is responsible for paying the fee for the number of lessons given prior to termination.

Happy Students will discuss separately with the client and the tutor regarding future tuition arrangements, and Happy Students will change the tutor for the client. There will not be any extra charges for the change and the client needs to pay just for the tuition session(s) that have been conducted.

If the client cancels a tutoring assignment before the tutor completes the agreed number of lessons for the first 4 calendar weeks, Happy Students assumes full claim to 50% of the tuition fees for the total number of lessons delivered in the month. For example, if the client had requested for 8 lessons per month, but the assignment was cancelled after the 5th session, Happy Students will be paid pro-rated commission for the 5 lessons conducted.

Happy Students will not be liable for any payment charges or issues arising from the cancellation of tuition assignments by the client.

If the client terminates the Assignment because the tutor is often late, skips lessons without valid explanations etc, the tutor will bear Happy Students’s full commission fee.

If the tutor cancels the Assignment after confirming acceptance (that is, the client’s contact information and address have been given to the tutor), the tutor will need to compensate the commission which amounts to 50% of the fees payable (as stated in the confirmation Whatsapp, sms, email or other forms of electronic communications messages) for the first 4 weeks.

If the tutor wishes to cancel a Tuition Assignment before the end of the first 4 calendar weeks, the tutor is to inform both Happy Students as well as the client at least 3 days before the next lesson date. Happy Students will recover our legal share of the one-time commission of 50% of the fee for the first 4 calendar weeks from the tutor. Tutors are encouraged to have a long-term commitment as the clients have vested their trust in them.

TERMINATION

The tutor will receive full or pro-rated payment for the number of lessons rendered, provided the tutor has complied with the Terms of this Agreement.

The client has the right to terminate the tuition if the tutor is unable to produce the documents certifying his/her credentials. In such cases, the tutor has to pay Happy Students the amount of money equivalent to the tuition fee for the day, as commission.

Feedback And Reviews By Parents & Students

I am a current MOE teacher (Chemistry), and I wanted a tutor who has deep and advanced knowledge in Biology. Ms Toh has a PhD in Biology from the University of Oxford. My daughter was able to learn so very much from her.
Madam JH
Parent of student in leading IB school
Mr Ang started teaching me in February, when I failed Physics for the first time. I had thought I understood what was in the text book, but my school teacher told me that my answers were wrong. Mr Ang corrected my misunderstanding of what the exam and test questions actually wanted me to do. I scored an A for my O Levels.
Chua PL
St Margaret's Secondary School
I started preparing for the PSLE during the holidays before P6 started. The stress was really bad, and my mum was very worried. She found Ms Yeo, who specializes in teaching P6 Math. I scored AL1, and am so glad that I was accepted into the Integrated Programme!
Steven G
Primary School in Central Singapore
Both my sons hate doing their homework. It was almost impossible to get them to sit down to revise for their exams. I hired Mr Ismail, and he is able to get them interested in Science. He has so many interesting stories to tell them. Within 2 months, my P4 and P5 boys went from C and D, to B and C. And they are less resistant to knowing about Science now.
Madam Alfida
Primary School in Eastern Singapore
I was struggling with General Paper because the way I analyzed the content was very different from what my teachers wanted. Worse, when 2 different teachers marked my answers for General Paper, I scored well with one teacher and not-so-well at all with the other teacher. Mr Gan has a Bachelor's in Laws from NUS, and taught my how to frame my arguments clearly and accurately. Got my A for General Paper.

Hire The Home Tutor With A Strong Track Record Of Helping Students' Grades Improve

Good grades signal an ability to learn and analyze.

These valuable higher order thinking skills are some of the many crucial qualities that schools, junior colleges, polytechnics, universities and employers are looking for.

In the real world – and even in your exam questions (now that you are still in school) – information is not clear.

It comes from all different locations and various combinations. This results in exam questions that students find difficult to answer.

And businesses face different problems every day.

When you start working, you will find that an employee who is able to grasp the significance of the issues/problems, and is resourceful enough to find profitable solutions will be quickly promoted over (or given more decision-making authority than) those who lack the ability to use their resourceful thinking skills and market acumen.

Success in the workplace requires the ability to communicate complex ideas to a diverse team of people, relentlessly pursue solutions, and explore possibilities beyond current knowledge.

The answers to real world problems are more divergent than what we are usually accustomed to in primary school, secondary school, and the tertiary institutions.

We must therefore start to develop a good level of cognitive intelligence and ability to learn – especially now that we are young and in school.

Clearly, good grades signal this ability.

It is therefore important that you do well in as many of your exams as possible, from the time you are in primary school.

There are a number of possible reasons that students get poor grades.

Some are external factors, such as the subject matter being too difficult, the teacher is hard to understand, and problems at home.

Other reasons have to do with student attitudes, such as not doing homework and was playing too much in class.

Here are some other common causes that could potentially be causing your lack of focus:

  1. Your study environment does not support learning. You may have too many distractions like noisy neighbours, background noise, and an uncomfortable study space
  2. You’re feeling tired because you’re not getting enough sleep
  3. Test anxiety
  4. Problems understanding the questions and content when doing homework and revision
  5. The pace is too fast for you to keep up with
  6. You did not learn the required material in previous classes (because you were not interested?)
  7. Teacher is not very good. Some may have an accent that makes it difficult to understand. Others can’t explain things in a clear manner. And some may not want to explain things at all. They might say, “You should have learned that last year/month, so I am not going to explain it over again.”
  8. There are also teachers who don’t like certain students, and this can affect their willingness to help those students. Also, some students don’t like certain teachers and thus may not cooperate in class
  9. Poor attitudes lead to poor grades. If you have negative attitudes toward school and studying, it can result in getting weak or failing grades
  10. Sometimes, you lack the motivation to do well in school. One reason can be that you have no dreams of what you want to do, or can see no benefit from going to school. It is good to have dreams, and for a mentor to guide you on how to achieve them step by step
  11. One of the biggest reasons why students do not do well in exams is because they didn’t study or do their homework
  12. Some students attend class but don’t pay attention

Our experienced specialist tutors have the latest best insights on each MOE/IB subject.

Every individual aspect of each exam section is given significant attention.

For each particular section, we build the skills required for your grades to improve.

We guide you in the thinking process behind how the correct answer can be generated, and how to accurately organize and present the answer to achieve maximum marks.

During home tuition, we will make sure you are spending the majority of your time on the key concepts that matter.

Learning how to think things through is a much better use of your time than trying to memorize everything.

Memorizing everything takes a lot of time and results in errors, whereas understanding everything will allow you to apply your knowledge to unexpectedly difficult questions.

After you have progressed beyond the foundational level, we will teach you more advanced and sophisticated techniques that help you secure perfection in your responses.

We believe that a mastery of the exam questions requires enhancing two broad sets of skills:

  1. Being able to understand what the question specifically requires you to answer
  2. Learning how to find the answer and how to present the answer in a precise manner for each question type

Therefore, we teach analytical and reading strategies so that you can break down each word in the exam question.

This way, you will not carelessly misunderstand, and give the wrong answers.

You will therefore be able to make the right inferences, as well as understand how and why the question was structured this way.

We will then teach you how to construct your answers to meet the requirements of the questions, and to get your A.

Here’s a little secret: nobody actually wants anyone to fail an exam.

It’s not good for your school or university, nor for the exam boards. They really want everyone to pass, because then everyone is happy.

All students take exams.  But some students have better exam skills and therefore perform better at exams than others.

It is, therefore, important to develop the skills you need to prepare for, to take and excel in exams.

Effective and robust exam SKILLS are critically important to exam takers, because these skills allow you to respond at your best to all the challenges presented by any exam.

Fortunately, these skills can be learned.

One of the best ways to learn how to manage better during exams is to look at what NOT to do.

Apart from panicking, common mistakes made in exams include:

  1. Not answering the question. This is usually because you have misread the question, or have prepared a different response that does not answer what the question requires you to do (ie your answer was off-point). Always make sure that you read the questions several times, and re-check your answer against the question at every step of your answering process.
  2. Failing to notice the obvious clues. This might include the strong hints in the question itself (for example, ignoring words like “Analyse…” or “illustrating your answer with evidence from x”. You also need to be very aware of the marking scheme, and the number of questions. If you have a question worth 15 points, you will need to give more than a one-sentence answer.
  3. Failing to plan ahead. You need to plan your time for any essays that you have to write, and for any MCQ questions that are in the paper. Take a moment to work out how long you have for each question before you start – and make sure that you don’t take more time than this. If you are writing essays, plan them briefly before you start, to make sure that you have a sensible argument and structure. This will also mean that you might get some marks for your ideas even if you don’t have time to completely finish your essay.

Exam skills improve with practice, over time.

With the right focus via coaching, exam skills can be improved significantly.

Students taking exams often describe difficulties like anxiety and stress, various mishaps or mistakes during an exam, poor decisions during an exam, or the effects of poor preparation and/or overconfidence leading up to an exam.

Every student has his or her own individual strengths and weaknesses in exam skills.

Knowing what they are will lead to good exam performance.

Consider:

Thinking Positively: Do you sometimes struggle to think positively about your exam ability and your exam performance?

Achieving Results: Do you sometimes get worse results than your study preparation and school/mock exams indicate?

Reading Questions: Do you sometimes misread questions on an exam paper and present a half-done or wrong answer?

Experiencing Exam/Mental Blocks: Do you sometimes experience “Exam/Mental Blocks” and struggle to calm down and continue with your exam?

Preparing Properly: Do you sometimes fail to prepare properly for exams, only to regret that when the exam starts?

Time Management: Do you sometimes run out of time and are not able to complete all the questions on an exam paper?

Answering All Questions: Do you sometimes choose to answer some questions well rather than attempt all questions required?

Picking Up Marks: Do you sometimes feel uncertain about how to score the maximum marks for your answers?

Having Panic Attacks: Do you sometimes have “panic attacks” right before an exam or during an exam?

Leaving The Exam Early: Do you sometimes leave the exam room early or put your head down on your desk, because you have exam anxiety or are disappointed with the questions you were given?

Performing As Expected: Do you sometimes leave the exam thinking that you did not perform as you were expecting?

When you are more aware of what are really causing you to lose marks (and sleep), you are one step closer to improving your exam management skills and your exam performance.

Active listening, reading comprehension, note taking, stress reduction, time management, testing practices, and memorization are some of the skills that our home tutors will teach you.

Perhaps the most important part of doing homework and/or revision – and often the most difficult – is simply getting started.

It is easy to allow yourself to get distracted, to decide that you just don’t feel in the mood today, or that there’s plenty of time.

The best thing to do is just to get on with it.

Just getting started will be a huge boost to your confidence.

We will keep your end goal in mind and will also use interim goals along the way:

  1. Set clear personal learning goals. Students perform better when they know what exactly is expected of them. They also want to know how they will be able to achieve those learning objectives. After we have established what is the gap between current skill levels and those required by MOE/IB exams, we will discuss with you your expectations of your upcoming learning schedule, based on your unique needs and personal goals
  2. Make learning convenient. Your tutor will structure content in small, manageable chunks that are easy to digest. We can also provide notes, tools, short videos, checklists or infographics to help make the content easier to understand and remember
  3. Get creative with course content. Boredom causes students to lose interest in the subject. We will use active engagement strategies so that we can deliver learning content that is creative and interesting
  4. We coach students. Instead of giving them the right answer, we ask the right questions so that the students are able to arrive at the right answers themselves. Hence, instead of spoon-feeding students, we guide them and encourage them to think critically, so that they are able to produce complex and insightful answers on their own, during their exams. This helps them consistently get higher marks, and prevents panic attacks when the questions are more difficult than they expected

Students who are weaker are given more help to meet the fundamental requirements.

We also constantly stretch our high-achieving students by introducing more complex concepts to help them develop greater critical thinking and more sophisticated writing and answering skills.

We want to help students develop the right strategies, higher-order thinking skills, techniques and analyses to score their A.

And to obtain perfection in exam techniques and skills.

With such expert guidance, you will soon have results that are superior to your peers in school.

It’s relatively easy to score the first 40% but increasingly difficult to achieve the next 60% in any exams.

It also helps if you bear in mind that the examiner may be faced with as many as a hundred (or more) exam papers/assessments to mark within a very short period of time.

What you should avoid when answering exam questions:

  1. Inability to address the question’s topic in your introduction
  2. Stray from the focus of the question (especially in the conclusion)
  3. Insert quotes without introducing them or relating them back to the topic
  4. Fail to provide credible references
  5. Use informal language, colloquialisms, or overuse rhetorical questions
  6. Write words that are too informal, unsophisticated, vague, exaggerated, or subjective, as well as those that are verbose, generally unnecessary, or incorrect
  7. Struggle to develop your ideas fluently (poor ideation)
  8. Have difficulty in keeping track of your thoughts

Exam responses that score higher marks have three well thought-out components: Introduction, Body, and Conclusion:

  1. Introduction. The purpose of an introduction is to introduce your essay. Importantly, it sets the stage to let your reader know that the content is worth reading further
  2. Body. The body of the essay develops and elaborates your argument, as well as the appropriateness and accuracy of references. The information has to be relevant and substantial in order for you to score well
  3. Conclusion. Your conclusion should not offer any new material and should summarize why the content in the Body is credible and important

There are many reasons students avoid writing. Primary reasons may be one or more of the following:

  1. They have a hard time getting started and feel overwhelmed by the task
  2. They struggle to organize and use mechanics of writing
  3. They are slow and inefficient in retrieving the right word(s) to express an idea
  4. They feel that the paper never turns out the way they want
  5. They realize that their answers are still sloppy even though substantial time and effort were spent

To write good answers:

  1. A reply to an exam question should have a single clear central idea
  2. Each paragraph should have a clear main point or topic sentence
  3. Every paragraph and sentence should support or expand the central idea of the paper
  4. The idea of each paragraph should be explained and illustrated through examples, details, and descriptions
  5. Be specific, use short sentences and avoid tripping around your points
  6. Make sure your work uses evidence of insight and synthesis, and has quality arguments. The confidence in your writing will shine through, gaining you those extra marks
  7. Remember to be clear on your view in the introduction and use the body of the essay to argue that position
  8. Include your point of view, supported by relevant ideas, arguments and evidence
  9. Summarize your arguments/points using a clear, organized structure that includes an introduction, body paragraphs and a conclusion
  10. Try to write neatly
  11. Use paragraphs of appropriate lengths (long paragraphs are difficult to read and/or understand)
  12. Try to have some meaningful ideas of your own rather than simply repeating “model answers”. Some exam markers do not like “model answers”. Also, do be aware that “model answers” are often wrong
  13. Be careful about spelling, punctuation, grammar, writing style, and legibility

USE OF INFORMATION

The primary purpose in collecting personal information is to provide the users with a smooth and customized matching experience.

To ensure success of the Tuition Assignment, Happy Students is selective of the type of students we accept as there is a small percentage of students who are not suitable for tuition.

To assist Happy Students to make better decisions regarding tuition assignments that match your credentials and expectations, we will ask for your personal information. The personal information collected includes but is not restricting to the following:

 Private information such as name, and birth data
 Contact information such as email address, mobile number and physical residential address

 Preferred teaching subjects
 Preferred hourly tutoring rates
 Additional information which we may ask for if we believe the Website’s or Services’ policies are violated

MOE TEACHERS/NIE STUDENTS

Tutors who are current MOE teachers are required to obtain the necessary approval from the Ministry of Education before accepting any assignment from Happy Students.

ACCURACY OF INFORMATION

The tutor shall fill in as accurately and completely as possible his/her name, contact details, qualifications, results, relevant experience, subject and level preferences, and will update such information in a timely manner.

The tutor shall not mislead users accessing the website and using Happy Students’ services. You will not provide inaccurate, invalid, false or incomplete information to Happy Students.

The tutor is solely responsible for any legal liability arising out of or relating to the Tutor Profile submitted to Happy Students, and shall indemnify Happy Students against any and all claims, damages, liability, loss, or causes of action (including legal fees and expenses that may be incurred by Happy Students) in connection with the provision of services by this website.

TUITION REQUESTS AND ASSIGNMENTS

The tutor understands that the information submitted to Happy Students pertaining to his/her qualifications may be released by Happy Students to the Client(s) for the purpose of tuition matching.

The tutor and the client explicitly agree to Happy Students and our network contacting you via Whatsapp, phone call, sms and/or other electronic communications channels to conduct tuition matches.

If the proposed Assignment interests you, please reply us via Whatsapp, sms or through the same electronic communications channel that we contacted you with. There is no need for you to call us.

Please note that Assignments would be confirmed with the client and tutors based on the most qualified match and prompt response from the tutor.

We reserve complete rights to reject any applications for the assignments.

If the tutor is not interested in the Assignment that we contacted you with, please disregard the assignment message.

CLIENTS’ CRITERIA FOR SELECTING TUTORS

The criteria stated by the client for each Tuition Assignment can differ from case to case.

Some clients require MOE teachers, others state their preference for experienced undergraduates with proven experience to improve the grades of their students.

Tuition Assignments are based on tuition demand and how well the profile of each tutor matches with the client’s requirements.

Happy Students makes tutor recommendations based on the tutors’ known track record in successful tutoring.

The submission of the tutor’s profile to the client does not bind the client to engage the services of the tutor, and remains subject to confirmation by the client.

FEES AND COMMISSION

Once the tutor and the client confirm a match, the tuition rate is non-negotiable once agreed upon.

The client will pay to Happy Students the fees amounting to half of the fees payable in the first 4 calendar weeks. This amount shall be deemed as the commission to Happy Students for matching the tutor to the client, and will be borne by the tutor who will forgo receiving the said fees paid by the client. Therefore, no payment will be made by the client to the tutor for half of the lessons conducted in the first month.

Thereafter, the client will pay the tuition fees directly to the tutor. The tutor shall collect all fees due to the tutor from any student or parent after the first two weeks. Happy Students will not assist in any recovery of fees.

Tuition fees are to be paid every 4 weeks to the tutor, unless otherwise agreed between the client and the tutor.

If lessons are postponed during the first two weeks, the commission payable to Happy Students will be based on the tuition session conducted the following week(s).

ACCEPTANCE OF ASSIGNMENT

Upon receiving an Assignment Description, the tutor may apply for the Assignment. If the tutor is chosen by the client, the tutor is bound to conduct the lessons as stated in the Assignment Description, or as mutually amended in subsequent communications.

TRIAL LESSON

Paid trial lessons can have 1.5 hour or 2 hour durations.

TUTORING LOCATION

The tutor will be teaching at the student’s residence at the mutually agreed upon time, unless specified and agreed by the client and the tutor. The tutor must provide his/her own transport to the client’s home/lesson location.

FIRST LESSON

Once the client accepts the tutor’s candidacy, the client will not be able to change the schedule of the First Lesson.

Clients are allowed to make changes in the schedule after the First Lesson is over. However, Happy Students hopes that this is not necessary as the tutor has already reserved that slot of time for the client. If the client wants to make changes in the schedule, the client is to consult with the tutor to ask if he/she is able to change the schedule or not.

The tutor is to bring your academic transcripts/certificates and relevant documents for your first lessons with the client for verification purposes.

If the tutor is unable to conduct the First Lesson of a tuition assignment, the tutor must call Happy Students at least 3 business days before the actual lesson. If the tutor fails to notify Happy Students of the tutor’s cancellation/postponement, an administrative charge of S$30 will be imposed on the tutor.

If the tutor fails to contact Happy Students with a valid reason to inform us about the tutor’s absence from the lesson, the tutor’s profile at Happy Students may be blacklisted. This will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

You are encouraged to carefully and responsibly consider before committing to an Assignment.

CENTRAL PROVIDENT FUND

Tutors agree to be responsible for all required obligations to the Central Provident Fund as a self-employed person. This is because, you, as a tutor, are providing private tutoring services under a contract of service to the client as an independent contractor. The tutor is not an employee of Happy Students, and the tutor accepts full responsibility for all income tax, insurance and other liabilities payable in relation to any fees generated from a tuition assignment.

TUTOR REASSIGNMENT OR CANCELLATION OF ASSIGNMENTS

If at any time the client is not satisfied with the tutor, the client may request a replacement or termination. However, the client is responsible for paying the fee for the number of lessons given prior to termination.

Happy Students will discuss separately with the client and the tutor regarding future tuition arrangements, and Happy Students will change the tutor for the client. There will not be any extra charges for the change and the client needs to pay just for the tuition session(s) that have been conducted.

If the client cancels a tutoring assignment before the tutor completes the agreed number of lessons for the first 4 calendar weeks, Happy Students assumes full legal claim to 50% of the tuition fees for the total number of lessons delivered in the month. For example, if the client had requested for 8 lessons per month, but the assignment was cancelled after the 5th session, Happy Students will be paid commission for the 5 lessons conducted.

Happy Students will not be liable for any payment charges or issues arising from the cancellation of tuition assignments by the client.

If the client terminates the Assignment because the tutor is often late, skips lessons without valid explanations etc, the tutor will bear Happy Students’ full commission fee.

If the tutor cancels the Assignment after confirming acceptance (that is, the client’s contact information and address have been given to the tutor), the tutor will need to compensate the commission which amounts to 50% of the fees payable (as stated in the confirmation Whatsapp, sms, email or other forms of electronic communications) for the first 4 weeks.

Tutors are encouraged to have a long-term commitment as the clients have vested their trust in you.

TERMINATION

The client has the right to terminate the tuition if the tutor is unable to produce the documents certifying his/her credentials. In such cases, the tutor has to pay Happy Students the amount of money equivalent to the tuition fee for the day as commission.

The tutor will receive full or pro-rated payment for the number of lessons rendered, provided the tutor has complied with the Terms of this Agreement.

DISCLAIMER

While Happy Students tries to provide clients and tutors with the closest tutor match possible, we cannot guarantee a satisfying match. We hold no responsibility or liability for problems, unhappiness, or disputes that are a result of the tutor or client. Happy Students will not act as an arbitrator for any disagreements that arise between tutor and client. However, Happy Students may try to mediate whenever possible and reserves all rights to blacklist any party who is at fault. Happy Students reserves the right to terminate or deny services to any client or tutor at any time.
